Tweet to heat
Square One have been working with British Gas who have launched a tweet to heat bus shelter in Manchester. The shelter has used the same type of control that British Gas gave us for our homes with ?Hive?, the remotely controlled heating and hot water system.

The pop-up bus shelter in Manchester has heating in it that is reactive to tweets, with the use of the hashtag #TweetToHeat the heating in the shelter comes on for short periods to warm those using it on a cold day.
What a fantastic idea!! You can find out more about the Tweet To Heat project here: www.hivehome.com/tweettoheat
Square One was asked to help with the design specifications and to erect the shelter used for this promotional activity which was used as a way of getting all of its users talking about and seeing how easy to use “Hive” would be in our own homes. With more than 150,000 households across the UK using “Hive” it is already well known but this publicity stunt has created quite a stir with many hoping that the shelter will be a permanent fixture.
This pop-up shelter in Manchester will be removed by Square One only a week after it was erected but keep your eyes open for more temporary shelters coming up near you.
This promotional activity had a lead time of just two weeks and Square One was able to assist with the design and build of the shelter on time and on budget.
